Pigmentation Removal

Laser Skin Pigmentation Treatment

Through age, sunlight, and other factors your skin can produce dark spots, freckles and pigments in your skin. The first parts of your body to show these signs are the hands, arms, and face as they receive most sun exposure.

Such concerns are caused by the production of excess melanin. Using laser treatments, we can remove such areas through treatments at our clinic using the latest technology in a clean and safe environment.

Changes to the melanin levels in your skin can occur for a variety of reasons and may be down to hormonal changes, age, overexposure to the sun, damage to the skin, or purely down to your genetics.

Is Laser Pigmentation Right for Me?

Our laser technology can help treat the following skin conditions:

  • Hyperpigmentation treatment/pigmentation treatment
  • Sun damage treatment/sun damage on the face
  • Sunspots
  • Uneven skin tone on face
  • Freckle removal
  • Sun damage on décolletage
  • Sun damage or sunspots on hands or forearms

Note: Pigment laser (IPL) for hyperpigmentation treatment is not a suitable treatment for hormonal pigment such as melasma.

If you are wondering how to get rid of sun damage on your face or how to get rid of freckles – the process is as follows:

  1. The first step of this laser pigmentation removal is a laser consultation and test patch. During this consultation your therapist will assess what type of hyperpigmentation you have and whether pigmentation laser treatment is suitable. A test will be performed on your skin and advice given on skincare products to support your treatment.
  2. If there is no reaction to the test patch, you can have your first pigmentation laser treatment 48 hours later.
  3. Before treatment, stop using all retinol products, glycolic acid or other AHA-containing products, and hydroquinone-containing products 3 days in advance. Avoid tanning, sunbeds, and self-tanning products for the recommended period before treatment.
  4. During the treatment, a gel will be applied to your face and the laser used. The procedure typically takes no more than 20 minutes. Some discomfort may occur; clients are advised to take 2 paracetamol 30 minutes prior.
  5. Immediately after treatment, mild redness and swelling may occur. Pigmented areas may darken for 5 days before flaking off.
  6. SPF must be worn for 2 weeks post-treatment. Aftercare advice will be fully discussed on the day of treatment.
  7. You will likely require 2–3 treatments for small areas, and 3–4 sessions for larger areas, spaced 1 month apart.

Pricing

A course of 2 is recommended for maximum results. Prices for smaller areas start from £65 per area. Larger areas are priced from £95, with packages and payment options available.
